BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
A barcode is a series of vertical bars and spaces carrying information about the object to which it is attached in a machine readable format. This property of a barcode enables its use as an effective tool for automatic identification and data capture. As opposed to manual data entry, which is tedious and prone to inaccuracies, barcodes enable automatic data capture with 100% accuracy.
A bar code (often seen as a single word, barcode) is the small image of lines (bars) and spaces that is affixed to retail store items, identification cards, and postal mail to identify a particular product number, person, or location. The code uses a sequence of vertical bars and spaces to represent numbers and other symbols. A bar code symbol typically consists of five parts: a quiet zone, a start character, data characters (including an optional check character), a stop character, and another quiet zone.

For example, warehouses and retailers can scan barcodes when products arrive and leave, to take a record of inventory. Some companies link their inventory control to online portals so that they can instantly update package status.
• Achieve accurate and efficient procurement – since the barcode is a unique key to identify a product (via GTIN), it can be used to identify products without any ambiguity and place accurate orders for them.

• For Partnership Firms: GST/VAT registration certificate or partnership deed
• For Private/Public Ltd. Company: GST/VAT registration certificate and Registrars of Companies (ROC) certificate or Memorandum of Association (MOA)
• For other entities (e.g. Registered Society, HUF etc.): GST/VAT registration certificate or Registrar of Society (ROS) certificate
• Shop Act License of the Company
• Food & drug Licenses if applicable
• List of Products
• Labels of the products

NOTE:
• The number of barcodes applied for cannot be changed later. Make sure you take into consideration the total number of SKUs/product variants you have, and also what you’re likely to add in the next few years before you apply.
• If you exhaust barcode numbers allocated to your organisation, you’ll need to submit a new registration request for more barcodes.
• In some instances, additional company documentation may be required prior to allocation of barcodes.
• Subscription should be renewed well before the expiry date for continued use of barcode numbers.
• INR 250 (excluding GST@18%) will be charged for any cheques returned by the bank. Payment thereafter will be accepted only by NEFT DD or PO and should include the additional amount towards cheque return charges.
Your subscription validity is for the number of years you select (1yr, 2yrs, 3yrs or 10 yrs.) per the table below.
E.g. a subscription started on 24th May 2017, for 3 years is valid until 31st March 2020.
